FileToHash License Agreement

1. License grant

Subject to your compliance with this Agreement, ShellStrong Technologies Pvt. Ltd. ("Licensor") grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use FileToHash ("the Software") on Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit devices that you own or control, for your internal business, professional, or personal purposes.

2. Cost of the license

FileToHash is currently provided free of charge under this Proprietary Freeware License. Licensor reserves the right to change the pricing, licensing terms, or availability of future versions of the Software, with reasonable notice provided through the Site or the Application.

3. Restrictions

You agree not to:

• Copy, modify, translate, or create derivative works of the Software, except as expressly permitted by applicable law;
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
• Sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or redistribute the Software as a standalone product;
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices, labels, or branding contained in the Software;
• Use the Software to build a competing hashing or forensic-tooling product.

4. Ownership

The Software is licensed, not sold. FileToHash, including all associated intellectual property rights, remains the property of ShellStrong Technologies Pvt. Ltd. This Agreement does not transfer any ownership rights to you.

5. Commercial use

You may use FileToHash for commercial purposes, including within corporate, legal, law enforcement, and consulting engagements, subject to the restrictions in this Agreement.

6. Support and updates

Licensor may, at its discretion, provide updates, patches, or new versions of the Software through the Microsoft Store. This Agreement applies to any updates unless accompanied by separate terms.

7. No warranty

The Software is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Licensor does not warrant that hash values, reports, or logs generated by the Software will be accepted as evidence in any particular legal or regulatory proceeding; outcomes depend on your own processes and applicable rules.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ShellStrong Technologies Pvt. Ltd. will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or business, arising out of or related to your use of the Software, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

9. Termination

This license is effective until terminated. It will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with any term of this Agreement. Upon termination, you must stop using the Software and uninstall it from your devices.

10. Entire agreement

This Agreement, together with the Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, and Disclaimer, constitutes the entire agreement between you and ShellStrong Technologies Pvt. Ltd. regarding the Software and supersedes any prior agreements on this subject.
